The finished dresser using the crates. We only had two ends so the middle one was made from scratch from new wood and then distressed.

We found these amazing old wooden crates at a recent flea market in France. I have big plans for transforming them and adding them to part of the dresser my husband Martin is making.

My good friend the Irish milliner has made this great range of retro style headwraps from a range of printed cotton fabrics.

They look great worn ‘land girl’ style as photographed, or back to front as a headband. At just €15 they are a great addition to any summer wardrobe.

New Products – Hope & Benson Collection 2012

Audrey Handbag in Mustard Italian wool

Now available on my other site www.hopeandbenson.com the 2012 collection.

Last year I was lucky enough to spend the summer in Italy and even luckier to stumble upon the contents of an old Italian haberdashery shop that was closing down after almost 100 years of trading.

I bought a large quantity of the gorgeous brightly coloured wools to use for my new collection. These pure wool cloths are couture quality and make up beautifully into my Grace and Audrey shapes.

The bags are lined in pure cotton cord, velvet or retro prints and embellished by my hand made wool felt flowers or cute bows.

Finally, my dream of opening my own lifestyle shop came true. During the August Festa here in Introdacqua, Italy where I am currently living I opened HOPE.

And, even better it is opposite the bar!
